Maggio Musicale, summer music festival in the Tuscan capital
This annual opera festival founded in 1933 comprises one of the oldest arts events in Italy and one of the most celebrated in the European Union. The “Teatro Comunale” , comprising the musical centre in Florence, hosts the Maggio Musicale. This festival, currently celebrating its 74th birthday, will be taking place throughout the summer months this year.
Florence’s most important music event allures waves of listeners to the “Teatro Comunale”, formerly an open-air venue, each year. They owe their success to the talented artists and instrumentalists that are invited to the Maggio Musicale every year.
